While Daft Punk is famous worldwide on the electronica music scene, the two Parisian deejay's that make up the outfit, robot helmets and all, have ventured into a new realm of indie - film-making.
The release of Electroma, a strange road trip sci-fi styled film, has come with mixed reviews, although popularity for the film is not waning among fans of Daft Punk and independent movie-making.
Electroma may be the first indie movie - that is more like one long and trippy music video - by musicians that contains no dialogue at all, and a soundtrack completely absent of even one note from Daft Punk.
Some critics call it boring, others deem the film interesting, but not worthy of the time investment (unless you are a true Daft Punk fan) and still more hail it as a beautifully strange and engaging film, despite its inaccessibility to the masses, both in concept and distribution.
