An unidentified female student at Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Virginia, told CNN that she had received 'creepy' instant messages from Cho Seung Hui more than a year ago.

The student was so shaken, she reported the incident to police at the time. However, the student is still too shocked to talk about the instant messages to reporters at this time.

Other reports from the Associated Press claim that two female students were apparently intimidated and harassed by Cho and filed complaints with the authorities.

In 2005, Cho was subsequently declared by a Virginia court to be an "imminent danger to himself." But apparently, there were no follow-ups to check on Cho's condition, leaving Cho extremely vulnerable to what appeared to be a severe mental illness.

However, the extent of Cho's preparation and premeditation for the massacre suggests he was not only a sociopath, but may have suffered from schizophrenia, a severe paranoid condition that can be effectively treated with medications.

CNN reported that Cho wrote instant messages (shown in bold at the end of this article) to the female student, but failed to mention that the words come from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Scene II - Capulet's Orchard :

Note: To put Cho Seung Hui's alleged instant messages to the female student into context, here is a portion of the Capulet's Orchard scene with the bold lettering showing what Cho reportedly instant messaged.

JULIET

'Tis but thy name that is my enemy;
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? it is nor hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part

Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo call'd,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
And for that name which is no part of thee
Take all myself.

ROMEO
I take thee at thy word:
Call me but love, and I'll be new baptized;
Henceforth I never will be Romeo.

JULIET
What man art thou that thus bescreen'd in night
So stumblest on my counsel?

ROMEO
By a name
I know not how to tell thee who I am:
My name, dear saint, is hateful to myself,
Because it is an enemy to thee;
Had I it written, I would tear the word. *

Pressing Questions:

1. Why was Cho not committed after a Virginia judge declared him an "imminent danger to himself."

2. Why did it take so long to inform students of the first shooting?

3. Why wasn't the campus locked down until the "first" shooter was not in custody?

...and the list goes on (more questions will be posted as more students respond - right now many are still in shock and mourning)
